The Justice Ambassador Youth Council (JAYC) is a 12-week social action and life skills building educational seminar that brings together government officials and 18-25 year-olds – many of whom are legal system impacted or gang involved – and come from New York City’s most under-served neighborhoods

The Justice Ambassadors Youth Council (JAYC) is a paid 12 week policy advocacy & development program for youth ages 18-25 to work with senior/executive level New York government officials and Columbia University students to create policy proposals. Learn more here.

Our Fall 2023 cohort will run from September 9th to December 5th. In September, youth will meet once a week on Friday's from 2-4pm for a total of four program prep sessions. 

From October through November, youth and government officials will meet twice a week; Tuesday's 6-8pm and Thursday's 4-6pm for a total of 16 sessions. All programming sessions will be held at Columbia University.

Graduation Ceremony will be held Tuesday, December 5th from 6-8pm at Columbia University.

After reviewing your application to determine eligibility, a staff member will reach to schedule a virtual interview. 

PLEASE BE ADVISED: All programming sessions from September through December will be held in person.
