Justice Through Code, jointly offered by Columbia University’s Center for Justice, and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School, is a free coding intensive and serves as a gateway for formerly incarcerated individuals to enter career-track positions in the technology sector.

Justice Through Code is now accepting applications for the Fall 2022 semester! Justice Through Code, jointly offered by Columbia University’s Center for Justice, and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School, is a free coding intensive and serves as a gateway for formerly incarcerated individuals to enter career-track positions in the technology sector.

JTC participants learn the fundamentals of full stack web development utilizing Python, Django, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and GitHub. During the course, students also learn from leading Columbia Business School professors on topics such as leadership, negotiations, and interpersonal skills to assist students in becoming competitive applicants for jobs, internships, or future job/tech training.

The program is twenty-four weeks-long, meeting four nights weekly from September 19th, 2022 to March 3rd, 2023 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm EST. Participants are expected to spend 20 hours per week on coursework while in the program including at-home video lessons and coursework.
