Project Coordinator
Grade 11
Position Summary
The Project Coordinator will support the development and implementation of the Justice Beyond Punishment Collaborative. Under the supervision of the Project Director, they will assist with all aspects of the project including but not limited to; setting up and executing Collaborative convenings, serving as the liaison with partners, being a key team member for all Collaborative activities, and supporting operations and communications staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a key player and go-to actor for the planning of and coordination for both internal and external Collaborative convenings;
- Acts as the main point of contact for the Collaborative serving as liaison to Collaborative partners for convenings and other Collaborative activities, questions and issues;
- Coordinates front end expenses for the Collaborative;
- Supports operations staff in coordinating subgrants and tracking Collaborative expenses; provides regular and ad hoc reports, with analysis, on finance and expenses;
- Coordinates a variety of communications events via Zoom;
- Responsible for coordination of all Collaborative projects including but not limited to language guides, media projects, workshops and public events, seeing these projects through from beginning to completion;
- Works alongside communications to support the development and coordination of a website for the Collaborative; makes suggestions for, authors, and edits website content;
- Supports the implementation of a media campaign in years 2 and 3 of the Collaborative;
- Authors and proofreads communications in ensuring that Collaborative activities are shared on social and CfJ website.
- May act in a supervisory role and review work for support staff, and casual employees
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education, Instructional Design, Psychology or other related discipline is required and minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and team-building skills. Able to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines, make rational decisions, and function as part of a team.
- A demonstrated commitment to social justice.
- Knowledge of and / or experience with, the movement to end mass incarceration.
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative and excel in an independent, self-directed manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree in the fields of Social Sciences, Education, Journalism, Psychology or other related discipline is strongly preferred.
- Experience with project coordination or management.
- Strong writing capabilities.
- Experience working on issues of incarceration and criminalization.
