On Saturday, July 30 the Center for Justice at Columbia University partnered with Community Justice Alliance and New Settlement Community Center to host our 3rd Annual Anti-Gun Violence Rally.
On Saturday, July 30, 2022 the Center for Justice at Columbia University partnered with Community Justice Alliance and New Settlement Community Center to host our 3rd Annual Anti-Gun Violence Rally. We stood in solidarity with community members who were directly impacted by gun violence, called out government ‘tough on crime’ government approaches, and uplifted the voices of youth. As we know gun violence is a health crisis rather than a punitive problem therefore, youth provide solutions on addressing gun violence. This year's youth speakers included Emani Johnson, Tyler Campbell, Follyvi Dossa, Jayden Woodall, and many others. This year over 100 people joined us in this fight, and we intend to continue to build this movement!
The next rally will be in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn on Friday, August 19, 4–6 pm. Meeting point is 460 Nostrand Avenue. Flyer below.
